Today's front page comes to us with great sadness. Miss India 1997, as well as one of India's most popular MTV VeeJays, Nafisa Joseph, was found dead in her Mumbai flat late thursday night.

Sources close to the 25 year old beauty queen say that she hung herself from a ceiling fan, but not before locking her mother and a close friend in another room.

Nafisa had been very depressed over a recent revalation, after the wedding invites had already been printed and posted, that her car-dealer fiancee Gautam Khanduja was already married.?Nafisa and Khanduja we to be married on August 7. Khanduja was in Panvel on Friday for police questioning.

Hailing from Bangalore, Nafisa?s face became synonymous with MTV India. She finished her schooling at Bishop Cotton School and then joined St Joseph?s College. She won the Miss India title in 1997 and went on to become a successful model. She was also an animal rights activist.

Several of India's modelling community, as well as close friends and family attended her last rights and cremation on Friday.

Rest in peace Nafisa. You will be missed.
