NRI Montessori Headmistress convicted

NRI and one time headmistress of the elite Montessori School of New York, Lina Sinha, 40, was convicted Thursday on two counts of oral sodomy with a minor, and one count of felony witness bribing - stemming from attempts to cover up her crimes.

Sinha is now charged with 81 crimes. Besides rape and sodomy, she is charged with criminal impersonation, bribing a witness, tampering with physical evidence, endangering the welfare of a child and falsely reporting an incident.

The dark-haired beauty, a respected educator with two master's degrees from Columbia University, was being held last night after the trial judge set her bail at $3.5 million.

The victim, now a 24 year old NYC police officer, was only 13 at the time when Sinha, then 29, sat him on a white porcelain sink in a rear classroom of the school and gave him his first oral sex.

"We would meet in the school van - a white Ford Econoline van," which they would park on York Avenue near the school, the cop testified. "I would kiss Lina and touch her and she would touch me. She told me that she loved me and that one day we were going to get married and have kids"

Sinha taught the student how to reach her bedroom above the school - sneaking past the security cameras installed by her parents, who owned the institution. She stocked her room with video games and kept him there weekends at a time.

The cop compellingly testified to the early trysts, which eventually evolved into a twisted, nine-year relationship with Sinha. He had yet to shave, and only stood as high as her chest. Still, Sinha promised him children - the boy to be named after him.

Sinha faces up to 18 years in prison.
