Woman lands Bollywood film role after faintingSunday, October 10, 2004 Talk about luck! I find it really funny that her father says that he has "decided to let her try" being a film star ... Shoot, she will probably make 10 times as much as a Bollywood actress as she would have on the police force, and not to mention the fame if the film is successful? I find that statement just a bit peculiar. I'd be ecstatic if my daughter was offered this chance of a lifetime by pure stoke of luck. ANANOVA.COM - An Indian woman who fainted while queuing to join the police force has instead landed a job as a film star. Sujatha, 21, collapsed in the intense heat as she waited with 25,000 other would-be police recruits in Chennai. She was keen to join the force because her grandfather had been a policeman but lost out after fainting, reports the Hindustan Times. However, her luck changed when film director Cheran saw a photograph of her, taken when she was unconscious, in the newspapers. He was on the lookout for a new face for his next project and, a few days later, his assistant director approached Sujatha's father Balaji. Balaji said: "I have agreed to let her try out being a film star, though she has wanted to be a policewoman since she was in class two." Powered by dBLOGGER |
